Look at their website, of course. Make sure they offer all the services and equipment that your event will need. You can also look for testimonials from past clients.
Also look beyond their website and Google their company name to see what type of reviews you can find from former clients. The people who write these reviews are all too happy to give you an unfiltered account of their experience.
Chances are you may want to take a very hands-off approach to the AV equipment that you rent. You will probably be too busy to have yourself or any member of your staff/ party worry about mics, cables, or lights.
Make sure they offer a trained tech staff of at least one person who can run the show for you, while you worry about everything else on your plate.
Speak with them to find out exactly what they offer, and see how closely it fits your needs. Maybe you need something specialized? Maybe you need to rent an iPad for the event? Make sure they have exactly what you need and get them to tell you exactly what they will provide the day of the event, so you’re not left scrambling to find a last-minute laptop.
